Living Environment

Living Environment is a basic Biology course taught at the freshman and/or sophomore level to high school students in New York State. Resources provided could be used in most HS Biology classes.

PROBLEM BASED LEARNING UNITS FOR BIOLOGY>


Earth Science

Earth Science is taught to juniors in the Department of Exceptional Children. Typically, this is a freshman or sophomore course in NYS.
EARTH SCIENCE


Environmental Science

Environmental Science is a third year elective course that is taught when students have completed Living Environment and Earth Science in a two year sequence.


Intermediate Level Science

Intermediate Level Science includes core content for grades 5-8 in NYS. There is both a performance assessment and written assessment given in Grade 8.
INTERMEDIATE LEVEL SCIENCE


Elementary Level Science

Elementary Level Science includes core content for grades K-4 in NYS. There is both a performance assessment and written assessment given in Grade 4.

Professional Development

Professional development opportunities for science teachers are provided in various areas. Resources provided have been developed in response to requests of various districts and from presentations given to TLQP, NSTA, NABT and STANYS.

Integrated Math and Science Programs

Problem based learning programs which integrate math and science have been developed for Intermediate Level summer school students. Topics include the Mathematical Applications to Human Body Systems and Homeostasis and Forces, Motion and Math.
